Henrietta Weyland Graduate Scholarship in Mathematics

It is our pleasure to celebrate PhD student Yang Yang, who is this year’s winner of the Henrietta Weyland Graduate Scholarship in Mathematics.  Yang is currently in his second year of PhD in Mathematics, under the supervision of Dr Jinniao Qiu (supervisor) and Dr. Tony Ware (co-supervisor). Yang did an excellent job in his first year: strait As for the four courses taken (3A+, 1A), passed all required preliminary exams, ranked high for his Eric Milner scholarship application, good TA records, etc. His supervisors, course instructors that he took courses with or he was TAing for, are all happy with his performance and work he has done. Yang was also the main coordinator for 2019 Chinese New Year Celebration.    

Henrietta Weyland Graduate Scholarship in Mathematics, one award a year with value $3200,  is open to students registered full-time in a doctoral program in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. No application is needed and the selection is based on academic excellence.
