Kevin Anderson appears on Witness to Yesterday, podcast of The Champlain Society
Discusses his book, Not Quite US: Anti-Catholic Thought in English Canada Since 1900.
Kevin Anderson explores the importance of anti-Catholicism to Canadian national identity, both past and present, with host Patrice Dutil on the Witness to Yesterday podcast.
Anderson contends that anti-Catholicism serves as an understudied means of analyzing how Canadians, particularly in English-speaking Canada, have understood what it means to be Canadian. Catholicism served as an unmodern, distorted foil against which Anglo-Protestant Canadians were able to define themselves.
