Professor receives funding for project on clean energy diversification
Professor Tscherning received $10,000 from the Stikeman Elliott LLP Research Fellowship in Corporate Law as well as $4,000 from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation to pursue his research project. The project examines the opportunities and challenges of decarbonizing Canadian oil and gas operations using emerging low-carbon technologies. Dr. Tscherning will be working with a team of four summer research assistants on this exciting project. Law students Nafisa Abdul Razak, Thomas Scholten, Austin Beck and Adam Williams will be assisting him with the project.
“The project could not be timelier as the global energy sector is urged to place a greater focus on low-carbon technologies for its post-pandemic recovery planning. Once again, I am grateful to Stikeman Elliot LLP and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation for their continued support of my scholarship and for the opportunity this has afforded me to work with a team of research assistants this summer,” says Tscherning.
