The Future of Energy Starts at UCalgary

The Faculty of Science at UCalgary launched Canada's first Energy Science Bachelor of Science degree program this fall.
The program will prepare students for the evolving energy sector by giving undergraduates a strong foundation of how all forms of energy – from conventional oil and gas, nuclear, and renewable power to hydrogen, biofuels and batteries – are produced, transported and used.

It’s not your grandpa’s degree.

It’s “not your grandpa’s degree,” Dr. Kristin Baetz, dean of the Faculty of Science, told The Globe and Mail in an interview this summer.
The program, she added, will build a strong talent pipeline as Canada works to become an energy superpower.
It’s perfectly placed at the University of Calgary, one of the top research universities based in the heart of the national energy industry.
Students will have direct access to experts working on the most pressing energy challenges and the most promising energy opportunities.
It will pave the way for groundbreaking solutions to change the world.
