Are you a student passionate about data science and analytics? Do you have innovative ideas, cutting-edge projects, or impactful research you’ve worked on as a group or team that you’d like to share with a global audience? Here’s your chance to shine!
The 2nd Data Science and Analytics Virtual Conference for Students is a dynamic and collaborative platform for emerging data enthusiasts across the globe to come together to showcase and share their data science and analytics techniques and innovative ideas, with peers from around the world. Hosted by Dr. Andy Asare, Assistant Professor of Data Science and Analytics at the Faculty of Science, University of Calgary, this year’s virtual conference will feature keynote speeches from industry experts, student-led presentations, and networking opportunities.
With the theme "Data Science and Analytics Techniques and Insights Across Borders: Collaborative Innovation in Analytics," the event encourages students to present impactful research, data-driven projects, and cutting-edge innovations that address global challenges through data science.

How to Register
You need to register as a group. Each group will present their findings from data-driven projects aligned with the conference theme.
Your presentation should follow the format below.
- The presentation should be in PowerPoint format (Maximum of 10 slides)
- The presentation should be a maximum of 15 minutes long
- Proposals are for oral presentations
Your presentation should include:
- Brief introduction of team members and their affiliation
- Title of the project
- Introduction: Briefly describe the issues, significance and objectives of the project
- Methodology: Outline the analytical tools, techniques and data used.
- Findings: Present results using visualizations.
- Recommendations: Propose actionable insights derived from the analysis.
NOTE: One group member should submit your group proposal through our online REGISTRATION form. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 1, 2025.
Conference attendees should register using the REGISTRATION form. The registration deadline for attendees is March 15, 2025.

Student Group Presentations (1 hour 40 minutes) |
Format: There will be 10 breakout sessions with three groups from different institutions in each break-out session. Each university group will present for 20 minutes (15 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A). There will be 25 minutes of networking right after the presentation for each session. |
Panel Discussion and Q&A (45 minutes) |
Topic: "Fostering Cross-Border Collaboration in Data Science Education and Research". Panelists: Representatives from participating universities Industry leaders Q&A session with attendees. |
