The Undergraduate Science Centre, Science Program Advising team is here to support you during your upcoming registration. Effective immediately, we will provide advising via phone, email and online zoom.
Please do not visit the USC or department offices as we are currently not doing in-person meetings. The staff in the Undergraduate Science Centre are working closely with departments and will triage all undergraduate student support.

All advising is provided on a online drop-in basis. At the time of your appointment, please ensure you are available at the preferred number listed in your Student Service Centre.
All advising will be offered remotely. We will call you for your advising appointment. Advising hours are available here.
How to join the virtual advising line:
Step #2: Click on Faculty of Science (ensure your location services are on)
Step #3: Add yourself to the drop-in advising line.
Step #4: Ensure your preferred phone number on file is up to date
Step #5: Keep your phone close so you don’t miss the call
NOTE: Do not come to our office to add yourself to the virtual advising line. Please follow the steps above. It is also important to note, that during regular office hours, if the QLess app says that the advising line is “closed”, it means the line is at capacity, please check back at a later time.

The advising team has a limit of drop-in appointments we can take each day. If the line up is full, you will not be able to join the line. Please review the advising hours to try again at a later time.
No. While the UCalgary community self-isolates, all advising appointments will be by phone (if your advisor is on campus) or by Zoom (if your advisor is at home).
You will get regular notifications about your wait time. You can move freely around your home while you wait. You will get a message on your phone when your appointment is 10 minutes away and another when the advisor is ready to speak with you.
Please check your email when your appointment time arrives. If the advisor is using Zoom, you will receive an invite by email. If you do not receive an email, you will be called by phone.
You will receive a notification by text when you are 10 minutes from the front of the line, and another notification at the time of your appointment. You can also text “S” to check your status in line.
No, your phone number will only be used to send you check in notifications.
No, students do not have to be current students or have a UCID to join the virtual queue. If you do not have a UCID number, you will enter 0 as your UCID.
If you are checked in for a drop-in appointment, simply text “L” to leave the drop-in queue.
