Technovation 2020

Programs like Technovation are important because there are many bright, young women who are interested in STEM and choose not to pursue it due to societal expectations, stereotypes, and even discrimination. Technovation helps these girls to realize that they are capable and that they should feel confident pursuing careers in STEM.

The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary is gearing up for Technovation Challenge 2020! After three successful years of hosting Technovation Calgary, with one of our junior teams the Robot Unicorns going all the way to the World Pitch Competition in 2019, we’re updating our program for 2020. We’re making some exciting changes that will allow us to modernize, simplify, and improve our program, and offer a stronger emphasis on coding skills and design thinking.

Join us on campus for an information session to learn about our redesigned program on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in our Science Collaborative Space (Science Theatres/room 142). Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Topics covered at the information session will include:

  1. What is Technovation?
  2. 2020 Program Changes
  3. Meet the new regional ambassador Dr. Lora Oehlberg
  4. 2020 Program Dates
