Transform Your Research: Apply for the 2026 SciComm Summit

Applications are open for the 2026 SciComm Summit, an intensive 2.5-day professional development program.

Taking place from August 19 to 21 at the TELUS Spark Science Centre, this project-based seminar will help you turn a core research or teaching topic into a high-end, audience-ready presentation.

Space is capped at 20 participants to ensure dedicated 1:1 expert coaching. You will walk away with a polished, versatile 5- to 7-minute talk designed for a public stage. Plus, you will receive a video recording of your final live showcase to add to your lab profile and website.

The summit runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the first two days and concludes with a live morning showcase on Day 3 in front of Faculty leadership and community partners.

To submit an application, simply email media and communications lead Colette Derworiz with your proposed research topic and a brief "so-what" statement explaining why your work matters to the general public.
