The Parex Innovation Fellowship represents a game-changing opportunity for my research group and me that will enable us to bridge the gap between academic research and practical applications.
Tiago Silva da Silva, Assistant Professor
With this fund, our primary goal is to translate our innovative research results on immersive applications (AR/VR/XR), mainly focused on immersive control rooms, into real-world practical applications. This translation will not only create tangible benefits for people's lives by enhancing the effectiveness of control centers but also lead to improved economic outcomes. Moreover, the fellowship will provide me and my students with the time and resources needed to support entrepreneurial endeavors that often fall outside the traditional scope of academic research. Additionally, it will enable me to mentor undergraduate and graduate students and support the development and technology transfer necessary to produce superior products and support local and Canadian startups, positioning us as leaders in the field of immersive technologies in both Canada and Brazil."
