Engineers Without Borders celebrates Fair Trade on campus
Students on the Fair Trade Team of the University of Calgary Engineers Without Borders chapter have organized a week to celebrate Fair Trade from March 25-28.
Currently working toward certifying the University of Calgary as a Fair Trade Campus, the Fair Trade Team hopes to promote a cultural awareness for sustainable consumption. There is a growing movement towards Fair Trade in campuses all over Canada, and we hope to contribute to establishing the university as a leader in sustainability.
Free fair trade tea and coffee will be handed out throughout the week at activities each day.
Tuesday Documentary Night

Fair Trade Friday
Friday March 28, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
A Big Fair Trade Friday will take place at the Sustainability Resource Centre. Come for tea, coffee, and talk about your thoughts on Fair Trade! The Fair Trade Team will encourage people to pledge their support for fair trade by signing a banner outside the Office of Sustainability.
Tweet your thoughts to the question, “What does Fair Trade mean to you?” for a chance to win a giant Fair Trade chocolate bar.
"Fair Trade is a sustainable practice in which our simple actions locally can make a big difference abroad," says Keon Ma, one of the students organizing the Celebration Week.
