Recognizing our donors and volunteers
It is with incredible gratitude and pride that the Faculty of Science recognizes the many donors and volunteers who have chosen to support students and researchers at the University of Calgary over the last year.
Countless Faculty of Science volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to take part in departmental and faculty-wide advisory committees, Science Takeover at the Calgary Public Library, Soapbox Science at the Calgary Zoo, Technovation, Alumni Weekend and many other valuable initiatives that enrich our Faculty of Science community. Without alumni, staff, faculty and community support, these initiatives would not have been possible.
We have been overwhelmed by the community’s support of the faculty’s 2019-20 fundraising campaign which yielded $6.3 million last year, smashing the $5 million goal. Additionally, the 2020-21 annual fundraising campaign kicked off in April and saw support for Giving Day 2020 yield over $60,000 in donations for student support, experiential learning opportunities and innovative research initiatives. The impact of this generous support ripples through our faculty, university and community. We extend our sincere thanks to our Faculty of Science alumni community, friends of the faculty and staff and faculty for all that you contribute.
