Undergraduate Science Co-op Program
UCalgary’s Science Co-op students are selected through a comprehensive process and receive ongoing support from dedicated co-op advisors, ensuring professionalism and commitment.
- Duration: 4 – 16 months (aligned with semester start dates: September, January, or May).
- Time commitment and compensation: full time, paid work (35-40 hours weekly)
- Co-ops must be high-quality and supervised work.
- Co-op students will return to studies after completing their co-op. They are eligible for funding, view funding options here.

Professional Graduate WIL Program
These placements and projects are designed to provide valuable, real-world experience for our students while offering your organization access to advanced skills and innovative solutions.
- Duration: 4 months (May-August)
- Time commitment: 200 hours minimum
- Compensation: paid or unpaid
- Opportunities must be relevant to the students’ field of study and align with your organization’s needs.
- Graduate students end their program on WIL and do not return to studies.
