Know your major field

The Major Field is typically all the courses directly related to your major.

You can find your major field courses in the calendar and your Academic Requirements report.

Minimum for non-Honours: 
48 units.  Maximum: 66 units.

Minimum for Honours: 
54 units.  Maximum: 78 units.

Know your course limits

200-level courses are called junior courses. Up to 54 units (18 courses) can be 200 level.

Maximum allowable transfer credit: 60 units.

Maximum allowable transfer credit toward the major field: 24 units.

Any course credits above the limits will not count towards your degree.

Know the D limit

Maximum D/D+ grades allowed in a degree: 18 units.

Maximum D/D+ grades allowed in your major field: 6 units.

Ds cannot be used as a pre-requisite.

Know the number of courses in your degree

All single science degrees are 120 units.

Double majors are a minimum of 120 units. 

Combined degrees are a minimum 150 units.
