The Faculty of Science Greenhouse is situated on the third floor of the Science A Building. It comprises two main sections: growth chamber space and the research wing, which is specifically designed for cultivating research plants. The research wing spans 3,072 square feet and is equipped with an Argus Titan system to maintain optimal growing conditions.
Serving as a crucial resource for internal users within the Faculty of Science, this expansive facility supports seven primary research groups, accommodating 40 to 50 users. It is dedicated to both research and teaching, facilitating a wide range of scientific studies. Furthermore, our ability to provide hands-on experience for students enriches their knowledge and skills, significantly enhancing their overall educational experience.
The greenhouse features 20 growth chambers, allowing for precise environmental control for plant studies. Additionally, it houses a plant photography room for capturing images to accompany research articles and publications. A dedicated pot storage room ensures that essential supplies for research are readily available. To promote plant health, soil is carefully mixed on-site, incorporating biocontrol measures to maintain an environment conducive to growth while minimizing pests, such as thrips.
