The world is your classroom
From the Geoscience exchange in Edinburgh to the Ecology and Conservation program in the Galapagos, we offer specialized opportunities for science students as well as well-rounded science opportunities with partners like Lund University.
The Study Abroad Office provides listings of opportunities, funding guides, and dedicated advising support every step of the way from pre-departure to planning for your return to Calgary.
Exchange programs are usually 1-2 semesters in length, with academic courses transferred into your degree program.
Group study programs are intensive, immersive experiences led by a UCalgary instructor. Travel with a group to complete UCalgary courses abroad for a truly ‘off-campus’ experience or complete hybrid or virtual programs.
Research placements and internships vary in length but typically take place over 6-12 weeks. Under the supervision of an experienced faculty member, participate in novel research in your field. Most research placements are experience-based and do not offer academic credit.
