Required Training Courses
Before you can start working, there are a few required training courses that you have to complete as (or before!) you arrive on campus. Click on each one to find out more, and how to register:
- Department Orientation - During Block Week each term
- TA Training Program - Begins in Fall Block Week, runs through Fall and Winter terms
- Laboratory Safety Training (for ??Biological Sciences and Chemistry??). This is an in-person course (Requires prerequisite of WHMIS 2015 completion) at start of term
- GradO - (optional) - Faculty of Grad Studies and ISS orientations, during Block Week each term.

Most of these courses are self-enrolled, and it is up to you to make sure you have enrolled and completed them on time.
Getting Set Up in the Department

- Choose and register for Courses
- Set up your Payroll
- Apply for Scholarships
- Find out about being a Teaching Assistant
- Arriving Early? Check the added policies
- Meet the Chemistry Grad Student Association
As you get settled in, talk to your supervisor about:
- Your responsibilities in lab, group meetings, courses you are expected to take, etc
- Any lab specific Courses and Training you need to complete
- Complete the Intellectual Property Checklist -- By Sept 30 (or your 2nd week on campus)
- Complete the Student-Supervisor Checklist - By Sept 30 (or your 2nd week on campus)
