Professor Sharon Mascher presented at the International Australian Studies Association Conference "Re-imagining Australia: Encounter, Recognition, Responsibility," in Fremantle, Western Australia, on December 9. Sharon presented her paper "Indigenous Representation, Politics and Recognition," which she co-authored with Simon Young.

The conference offered the opportunity of addressing the intensification of overlapping, interpenetrating and mixing of cultures and peoples in everyday life in Australia – and how its public culture has become increasingly re-imagined through intense conversations and inter-epistemic dialogue. The conference showcased contemporary research and creativity in understanding Australia through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches.
