Vaccine bus plans four stops on UCalgary main and Foothills campuses
Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 has never been more convenient for UCalgary students, faculty and staff as the 19 to Zero vaccine bus is scheduled for several stops on campus this September. The impressive bus-turned-mobile clinic will land at the university to coincide with the fall return to campus.
Vaccines are available to all employees and students who present their UCID and Alberta Health Care card. Out-of-province students and international students without Alberta Health Care can present their UCID and a government ID such as a driver’s licence or a passport.
You can find the vaccine bus on campus during these times:
Wednesday, Sept. 1
- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Between Cascade Hall and Yamnuska Hall (Location 2 on map)
Thursday, Sept. 2
- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Foothills Campus, outside of HMRB (Location 1 on Foothills map)
Wednesday, Sept. 8
- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- West side of Taylor Family Digital Library (Location 1 on map)
Thursday, Sept. 9
- 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- By Lot 25, South of Bio Sciences building, West of University LRT (Location 3 on map)
Students and employees are encouraged to reserve a vaccine appointment time online to help ease wait times.
The vaccine bus, part of Alberta’s first mobile vaccination clinic, is a joint effort between 19 to Zero, Alberta Health, and the Industry for Vaccination Alberta Coalition to help extend Alberta’s vaccination campaign.
The research is clear: vaccinations are highly effective against known COVID-19 variants, especially for preventing severe disease. Everyone is urged to become fully vaccinated as soon as possible if they want to be able to attend campus without having to complete ongoing rapid testing throughout the term. Vaccines are the best way to protect us all.
